ID-FISH Technology is the leader in the development of diagnostic assays for detection of malaria parasites and other infectious diseases directly from blood smears using our patented FISH technique. FISH is an inexpensive and highly efficient technology that exhibits the sensitivity and specificity demanded in today’s world of high mortality and emerging drug resistance.  By optimizing fluorescent probe technology, ID-FISH surpasses the inadequacies of existing diagnostics.  Babesia and Bartonella FISH tests are already in use (offered as clinical tests by IGeneX Inc, Palo Alto, CA).  In addition, we are the first to develop a test to detect Plasmodium specific RNA directly on a blood smear.  Currently, test kits are available for detection of all malaria parasites that cause human disease.  Testing includes the ability to differentiate P. vivax and P. falciparum from other malaria parasites. Since these simple and cost-effective tests are highly specific, better management of malaria patients is possible around the world.
